The March 2017 issue of The Pulse is the seventy-fifth issue published since the Fall of 1998. We asked former reporters and editors to let us know where they are now, their favorite Palo Alto memories, and what advice they would give to current students.
Janel Santos was a student at Palo Alto College from the years of 2005 through 2007. Santos then went on to earn her bachelor’s degree from the University of Texas at San Antonio in 2008. She is now a special projects assistant for the chancellor of the Alamo Colleges District, where she has worked for almost five years.
“Being a part of The Pulse student newsletter was such an amazing opportunity,” said Santos. “I was able to learn the skill sets needed to apply in my career field. I always envisioned working in higher education, and I am extremely grateful to be a part of the Alamo Colleges District family.”
One change she would have made to her college experience at PAC is joining more clubs. Santos admits that being more connected to school organizations would have helped her gain additional real-world experience. Santos currently serves as the vice president of District Staff Council and is a member of the Emerging Leaders program.
